Sligthly Bored?

Well, yes, i'm bored....like a...bored ninja?
So, i'm at the office, feeling bored, loads of stuff to do...and what do i do at lunch time? Quizzes. Yeap. Talk about no life whatsoever hum? Anyway, here are some I did:

Which race of middle earth do you belong? :

Here is the result of the Which historical lunatic are you test and guess what:

"You are Gaius Caesar Germanicus - better known as Caligula!

Third Emperor of Rome and ruler of one of the most powerful empires of all time, your common name means "little boots". Although you only reigned for four years, brief even by Roman standards, you still managed to garner a reputation as a cruel, extravagant and downright insane despot. Your father died in suspicious circumstances, you were not the intended heir, and one of your first acts as Emperor was to force the suicide of your father-in-law. Your sister Drusilla died that same year; faced with allegations that your relationship with her had been incestuous, you responded, bafflingly, by declaring her a god.

You revived a number of unpopular traditions, including auctions of properties left over from public shows. When a senator fell asleep at one such auction, you took each of his nods as bids, selling him 13 gladiators for a vast sum. You attempted to have your horse, Incitatus, made into a consul and hence one of the most powerful figures in Rome. It was granted a marble stable with jewels and a staff of servants. At one point you forced your comrade Macro to kill himself - in much the same vein as your father-in-law - accusing him of being his wife's pimp. You, of course, were having an affair with said wife at the time.

Things went from bad to worse. When supplies of condemned men ran short in the circus, you had innocent spectators dragged into the arena with the lions to fill their place. You claimed mastery of the sea by walking across a three-mile bridge of boats in the Bay of Naples; kissed the necks of your lovers, whispering sweet nothings like "This lovely neck will be chopped as soon as I say so,"; dallied with your sister's lover and made her pull her unborn child out of her womb prematurely. Towards the end of your reign, you had a golden statue of yourself made and dressed each day in the same clothes you yourself wore. When you eventually died, the terrified people of Rome refused to believe that such a cruel reign could ever end, and believed you to be alive for years afterwards. "

Not really....or maybe...yes...I see the similar patterns...Muahahaha!!!!!

Which 1990's Subculture Do You Belong To?

Year of the Deviant

Not really. Just found it a catchy phrase. New year, same routine.
I'm eating spaghetti carbonara and browsing Google for interesting pics.
I've been reading some stuff on photoblogs, they seem nice, and since my wife got a Nikon digital camera for christmas (which I use a lot!!!!) I was thinking of making one....but the thing is I don't really like to share personnal pictures. Sure, I could post pictures abot everything but me...but that wouldn't be the same. Be as it is, I don't update this blog regularly, so, with two blogs it would be even harder.

I've open up an account at deviantART. Not that I think my work could be considered art or that i'm an artist (au contraire, it seems almost everybody who can put some blots on MS Paint think they are artists....ehehehe).
I'll be updating the gallery....er....every week at least. Don't expect big things though, i'm not that good with Photoshop and I don't have an artistic mind, at least when it comes to painting and such, i'm more of a written word fan.
Anyway, this is my page at deviantART. Go check it out if you like.

You got a pic, image, anything, you want with a twisted look? Send me a mail and the subject attached and i'll see what I can do.

Ciao

Tuna Steak, Return of the King and Mûmakil

Well, yeah, Tuna Steak is going to be my lunch today. It's nice, a little raw and dry, but nice. Have you eaten real raw tuna? With a little vinegar and tomato, ah, so good. Grab your recipe here.

I could spend the next lines making a praise to Peter Jackson's "The Return of the King" but there are already thousands of sites doing that so, I'll just say I really enjoyed the movie although it has the only scene in the trilogy that I find unnecessary, even boring. I'm talking about the last scene when Pippin, Merry and Sam say goodbye to Bilbo and Frodo who are leaving to Valinor in the elven ships.
It was way too long if you want my opinion. Or let me put it in other perspective: it was good but if it meant others "things" would not be seen I would rather have a shorter scene. Some facts weren't in the movie (they probably are in the extended version I will buy when it comes out in Portugal) like how Eowyn and Faramir got to know each other and ended up married. In the movie they are only seen together in the crowning ceremony of Aragorn, but only someone who has read the books (like myself) would know that they indeed are together. Eheh, smart bitch that Eowyn, couldn't get the King, got married to the Steward, ehehe.

Another interesting thing (at least for me), i've been looking around for fanlistings on Mûmakils and Easterlings, and, guess what, NONE whatsoever. It seems nobody likes those towering beasts that crush the puny gondorians and rohirrim. It would be nice if someone created a fanlisting for both of them. Oh well... Just a sidenote, no Uruk-Hai fanlisting too...is it just me or doesn't it seem people are only attracted to "nice" and "beautifull" characters?

Since we are talking about Tolkien's work, I'll have to ask anyone who reads the blog: what is you favorite character from ALL the books?
Mine is
Eöl, called "Dark Elf", from the Silmarillion. Read about him here.

Not much to talk about Christmas.... the truth is I simply don't have nothing to say about it. Same thing every year.

I'll try to update my link section today.

Cheers mates

Massive Post! Movies, Fanlistings, whatever!

Massive updating
Yes, i'm updating the blog. Just put up the banner and i'm trying to change the layout a bit. Or maybe not.

I saw Bulletproof Monk last night and my review is...easy-watching flick. It's not good and it's not that bad...it's just...plain simple. Pseudo-mystical story, typified characters (good tibetan monk fights evil nazi), the same old good vs bad story.

To keep in the subject of movies, a couple of interesting movies are in development and if you want to download the quicktime trailers/teasers just choose in the left sidebar, in the Movie Trailers section (in the bottom). ;)

After watching Lord of the Rings: Return of the King last saturday (me and my wife made a movie marathon on Friday and watched Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers) I felt kinda sad. There will be no more Tolkien-goodness waiting for me next December, only Harry dumbfuck Potter. Not that I dislike Harry Potter (ahem...) but Lord of the Rings is....well, amazing to say the least.

As you might have noticed, I've only recently discovered the idea of "fanlisting", and I can say i've become addicted to it! There are literally fanlistings for everything and I think the idea itself to be both simple and great.
A fanlisting is a place for all fans of a particular show, movie, actor/actress, singer, etc. to come together and build the biggest listing of people from all around the world who are fans of that subject.
Basically it works like this: you join the list and grab a code (those nifty buttons on the left section) to link back to site.
Yeah, I know, so what's the fun? The thing is, i'm a fan, and this is a listing of fans...it's only purpose (if there is one...) is to state to the world that that subject has X fans from all over the world. Get it? Anyway, i've already visited thousands (I mean it!) fanlistings and the links on the left are only the beginning. I plan to have links to ALL my favorite subjects/thingies.

Seven hours from now I'm going once more to the Algarve, this time to spend Christmas with my wife's parents. It's kinda nice spending X-mas there, although every year I hate this season more and more.

To anyone who cares to read this, Merry Christmas. May you have all you wish for.

Cheers

Oh, almost forgot, I'm trying to make my own fanlisting, the Manji fanlist (not a fanlist about me but about Blade of the Immortal's main character, Manji). Perhaps the reader might be enticed to give me some tips for Photoshop page building, hum?

Annoyed

Probably what my boss does best: annoy me. Damn, I'm so tired of those fucking dumbass attitudes....what a jerk.
I don't know who told me something like "office work is all simple stuff" and "you get to sit in front of a computer the entire day" mumbo, but it's pure BULLSHIT.
First of all, in my daily 8 hours of work around 4 hours are spent in waiting lines, to either sign a paper or deliver a document or whatnot. Secondly, the amount of head work I do would make most people my age just...give up.
I'm too pissed to write more right now.

Going Down but not Under

Shikamaru!!!I'm going down. To be more precise, 300 kms downwards to the Algarve.
Ah, the internationally famous Algarve, the haven of foreign turists. The scandinavian and anglo-saxon filled beaches, streets and discos. Not that I don't like the turists, it's the native's I don't like. To be more precise, young people, ages 10-30. I don't think they are all a bunch of shit-faced jerks....but most of them, like, 80%, indeed ARE!
The only reason i'm going there is because of my father-in-law´s birthday.
Anyway, my dog stays at home but I have to go...Unfair!!!

I'm so bored right now. Not reading any books, no new games to play, not surfing the web that much....truly I must have reached this blog's namesake (Bored Ninja). The big problem is, even though i'm bored I don't feel like doing anything so, I keep on being bored. Strange dude, hum?

I hate Christmas. No I dont. I even enjoy it but the cynical attitudes that most people do around this time of the year just makes me wanna puke. Like, my family very large (numerically speaking) and people tend to just "forget" about others for the entire year, exception made at Easter, Christmas and any other random traditional holiday. Isn't that just plain stupid? People should keep in touch and have family dinners the entire year, I don't mean everyday or every month but occasionally, not like my family does anyway, since most seem to hate each others the entire year except in Christmas. I won't even start talking about my wife's family since that reaches another level of....hell, i'll just shut up.

Gotta go back to work, my bosses are beggining to turn into slave-drivers and my share of back-lashing is waiting for me.

New Things

the man...Whopee! Broadband is back!

Like the title says, my office net is back and so are my leeching days, praise the kami. This blog is becoming, without a doubt, a digital diary, but more personnal than pubic blogs since no one reads it.
Anyway, it's good to be back online, posting, browsing, downloading.....ah....the good life.

I've been thinking a lot about my health (and my wealth to but back to subject) and i've decided i've gotta do some kinda sport, something to keep both my physical and mental health in good shape. ALthough I would love to practice Kendo, my personnal life and work don't alllow me that pleasure so I think I'll keep with the "typical" training exercises and such, perhaps based on the work outs used in Muay Thai training.

Today's Link: MuayThailand - All on Brave Dave and his great adventures in Lanna Training camp (a camp for Muay Thai training and practice).

Pirates & Witches

Pirate Movies... It's like this mate, either you like it or you don't. I enjoyed watching it, nice movie and all, but it all comes down to Mr. Johnny Deep. He is the soul of the movie! You savy? Nice acting from the evil guy though but Orlando Bloom (the sexy Legolas of LoTR) is miles away from Captain Jack Sparrow!

Witchcraft and such are common topics on movies, books, etc, but the approach that Witch Hunter Robin anime has of that mythos is, in my opinion, very fresh, innovative and all round great. So far the story seems great, the music is fantastic and the animation is also good. And I say good because i'm a fan of other style of drawing but Robin captivates me because of the dark mood and the neo-gothic scenery.
How I wish someone would make a good anime about vampires....yes, I know, there are a lot of animes about vampires but they suck !
I'll have a bit more information about Witch Hunter Robin in some days when I have the time to post it.

The End and the Beginning

The End? Yes. I've put an end to my membership and role as moderator in a community of fans of the Total War Series games. What can I say...I've left a lot of friends behind and some people I regarded as my friends but in the end they where just plain jerks on a power trip. I feel sad for leaving that place where i've spent so many hours writing and reading. But life goes on, and every day must be lived as if it were the last one. My personal motto is and will always be: Bones heal, chicks dig scars, pain is temporary, glory is forever.

The Beginning?  Well, after months (perhaps even more than a year...) of not writing anything (and I mean "writing" as in novel/short story writing) I've started once more to make use of my literary capabilities. My focus on subject has changed gradually and im starting to write agian pretty slow but I hope i'll have a short story by Christmas.

My office broadband connection is stil down and i'll have to wait until perhaps the second wekk of November to have my leeching powers back! Then it's gonna be a download craze, but first things first, my first leeches are going to be Naruto (manga and anime), Blade of the Immortal new issues (once the new tradepaperback is on Amazon i'll order it, no doubt about it!) and the Frize ads with Pedro Tochas (if you live in Portugal you'd know what I mean....)...then, games, movies, games, movies and shiteloads of RPG's!

Until next time.

Cheers Mates

Sick!

Sick like a dog!

For the last four or five days i've been sick like hell, my tonsils ready to burst out. Days with lots of fever, spitting pus, feeling like shit. Great....
And still no broadband, not even at the office (yes, i've been sick but I've been working...talk about slave driving!)
Anyway, not much to talk about except bitching how I feel sick and bad and sick....
